Stories that Stick: Strategic Communication for Nonprofit Success
9:00 am - 10:15 am White River
In this session, we will discuss the power of storytelling through strategic communication. Regardless of the nonprofit organization's mission, everyone can benefit from collecting and utilizing stories from clients, donors, board members, staff, and beyond. Storytelling is an art form. Building a story is a process, much of which happens behind the scenes, well before the story is ever told. By examining the building blocks of a story, we will identify what makes the most sense for our individual organizations.
However, finding the story is only half the journey. You must then tell the story in a way that resonates. By identifying your best target audience, determining the optimal time to share, and crafting appropriate calls to action, your organization can fully capitalize on the potential of a single story.
In this session, we will explore how to put all the pieces of this puzzle together so that the stories you collect will stick and resonate with your audience.
Session Takeaways:
How to search for and find stories that resonate with your mission, goals, and target audience.
How to utilize those stories through strategic communications (in social media, newsletters, magazines, email campaigns, videos, and more!)
How to maximize your story's potential so that you get the most impact out of your communication efforts.
